PAUSE FOR THOUGHT:

JIM McGRATH, a highly respected and lifelong major contributor to the world of horseracing, handed in his resignation this week to the British Horseracing Authority where he has worked as an independent director on their board since 2005.

McGrath a key member of the Channel 4 Morning Line and the C4 live horseracing team, one of the best brain’s right across the board in the complex and often badly misunderstood world of horseracing, slammed Racing For Change seeing no merit in the alterations to the calendar advanced by them, and accepted by the industry.

The BHA departments listed below need urgent overhaul and correction, but under Paul Roy the present Chairman of the BHA and Nick Coward his side kick, nothing at all has been done about any of them to date, it seems unlikely that Roy and Coward are even aware that anything needs to be done, this is the scary part.

BHA Regulation
BHA Disciplinary
BHA Legal authority needs to be fair to all, horsemen included, not excluded. Horses included, not excluded.
BHA Licensing of racecourses
BHA Licensing authority supposedly to uphold standards?
BHA Rules of Racing to include the horses
BHA Passport department to include the horses
Weatherbys to include the horses
Who exactly are all these people who have accepted RFC input?

How about all those who work at the dangerous sharp end of horseracing each and every day, all those who do actually take all the risks? When are the BHA going to start to consider their needs ? Their career structures?

END
